Episode 57:Hear God Clearly — Positioning Your Heart to Receive His Direction in Life & Business
You've asked God for direction more times than you can count. You've prayed over the decision, the offer, the next step in your business — and still found yourself wondering, "Was that God, or was that just what I wanted to hear?"
What if the real question isn't "how do I hear God more clearly," but "is my heart even positioned to hear Him?"
In this episode, I walk through the story of Solomon — a new king facing an assignment far bigger than himself, who didn't ask God for wealth, long life, or victory over his enemies. He asked for a hearing heart. The Hebrew phrase, lev shomea, means exactly that — a heart that can truly listen.
We talk about what it actually looks like to position your heart to hear God: guarding against a hardened heart that resists correction, cultivating real intimacy so you recognize His voice the way you'd recognize someone close to you, and testing what you believe you're hearing against His Word.
I also unpack the sobering second half of Solomon's story — how a man who began by asking for a hearing heart later let his heart turn away — and what that means for you as you steward whatever God has entrusted to you, whether that's your identity, your calling, or your business.
Because hearing God was never meant to stop at revelation. It was meant to lead to discernment, wisdom, and ultimately, obedience.

When God Calls You to Build: Hearing His Voice, Letting Go of Self-Reliance & Doing Business His Waywith Dr. Faith Nanyonga
You've prayed. You've fasted. You've asked God the same question a hundred times “What do You want me to do?" and some days it feels like He's silent.
Dr. Faith Nanyonga knows that silence too. She had a PhD, a master's, a career in biotechnology she'd worked years to build. Then, ten days before Christmas, she got an email and a text on the same day: her contract was over, effective immediately. No warning. No severance conversation. Just, unemployed, in the middle of the holidays, with two young kids at home.
